Geography
Guernsey is the second-largest of the Channel Islands, lying in the English Channel northwest of Jersey and close to the French coast of Normandy. With the islands of Herm, Sark and Alderney it forms the Bailiwick of Guernsey.
Like Jersey it is far closer to France than to Britain, yet remains a self-governing British dependency built on offshore finance.
