Geography

The Isle of Man lies in the Irish Sea, almost exactly halfway between Great Britain and Ireland. It covers about 572 square kilometres and is dominated by a central upland ridge rising to Snaefell, its only mountain.

Self-governing and fiercely independent in character, the island has its own parliament โ€” Tynwald โ€” which claims to be the oldest continuously sitting legislature in the world.
