More About Internet Speeds Around the World
What makes a country’s internet speed fast?
The speed of a country’s internet depends largely on infrastructure. The types of wires used to deliver the internet, for example, have a large impact on speed. Fiber-optic cables are capable of providing faster connections than copper cables.
How fast is Starlink internet?
Starlink, an internet provider that’s part of company SpaceX, delivers internet via satellite around the world. The Starlink home plan offers speeds of 100β200 Mbps.
Which countries have the fastest mobile download speeds?
Qatar and the United Arab Emirates, both countries in the Middle East, hold the top two spots for fastest mobile internet speeds.
Which country has the slowest internet in the world?
The world’s slowest internet speed belongs to Cuba. The country’s median download speed was just 1.97 Mbps in April 2023.
What makes a country’s internet speed slow?
