Our mission is simple: to publish unique, accurate, and up-to-date maps, along with clear and useful writing to go with them.
Mappr began as a passion project for cartography. Today it is an independent publication, researched, mapped, written, and edited by one person. Every map is made in-house from authoritative data, and every article is fact-checked before it goes live.

How we make our maps
Every Mappr map is built from scratch rather than pulled from a stock library. We work from authoritative public data, including sources such as Natural Earth, the World Bank, the United Nations and its agencies, national statistics offices, and OpenStreetMap, and we render maps in professional GIS tools including QGIS and MapTiler.
Figures are checked against primary sources, each map cites the data behind it, and pages are updated or corrected as the world changes. When we get something wrong, we fix it.
Feedback and corrections
Your input matters. If you spot an error in a map or an article, or you have an idea for a map you would like to see, email [email protected]. Every message is read, and reader suggestions genuinely shape what gets mapped next.
